Children’s Ministry

Children are an important part of PUMC. We have several ministries to nurture our youngest members. We’d love to have your family get involved with any of these groups.

Sunday School for Children

The Sunday School format is currently a “large group, small group” format.  All children 5K to 5th grade meet in the Clubhouse located in the last classroom upstairs in the new building.  During the first 20 minutes of the “large group” the children will participate in social time, games, prayer, song, Bible skills, memory verses, Bible stories, and a video.  The last 20 minutes will be spent in their classrooms across the hall from the clubhouse in their “small group” participating in an activity that reinforces the Bible lesson and video from that day.  Children can be picked up from one of these two classrooms at 10:45am.

Club 22:6

Club 22:6 meets on Sunday nights.  Clubhouse hours are 4:30-5:30pm.  All children K5 – 5th grade are welcome to become Charter members of the Club.  Parents: No eating in the clubhouse (ie. no meal will be provided)

Based on Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go,  And when he is old he will not depart from it.”

VBS 2019

PUMC invites Children to Roar VBS: Life is wild, God is good.

A summer kids’ event called Roar VBS will be hosted at Pendleton UMC from Sunday, June 9 to Wednesday, June 12. At Roar, kids discover that God is good even when life get wild! Kids participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, make and devour yummy treats, experience one-of-a-kind Wild Bible Adventures, collect Bible Memory Buddies to remind them of God’s love, and test out Sciency-Fun Gizmos they’ll take home and play with all summer long. Plus, kids will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God Sightings. Each day concludes with the Safari Celebration that gets everyone involved in living what they’ve learned.

Roar is for kids for rising K5 to rising 5th graders (Grade entering in Fall 2019) and will run from 6pm to 8pm each day. For more information, contact brunion@pendletonumc.com.
